Iowa Road Trip recently asked its followers to recommend one local Iowa ice cream shop and share what they order when they visit. Hundreds of comments came in, mentioning approximately 130 ice cream businesses from across the state. When all those recommendations were counted, Udderly Delicious in Atlantic finished as the clear No. 1 most-mentioned shop.
That news has us feeling proud, grateful and maybe just a little extra hungry.
This One Belongs to Our Customers
Before we let the trophy go to our horns, we want to celebrate what makes this recognition so special: it came from real Iowa Road Trip followers sharing the places they return to and the treats they genuinely love.
Every recommendation represents a family ice cream run, a road-trip stop, a post-game treat, a lunch with friends or one of those days that simply needed a cone.
To everyone who mentioned Udderly Delicious, shared a favorite order or told someone to make the drive to Atlantic: thank you.
The Treats Iowa Kept Talking About
The Iowa Road Trip roundup did not just put us at the top of the list. Followers had plenty to say about what keeps them coming back.
The Muddy River concrete was one of the most frequently recommended orders. Fans also gave shoutouts to Monster Cookie, Butterfinger, Oreo, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, Scotcharoo, Heath and Banana Nut Fudge concretes.
The love did not stop there. Raspberry malts, black raspberry shakes, cherry shakes with chocolate chunks, thick marshmallow malts, turtle sundaes and hot fudge sundaes all earned mentions. Followers also remembered monthly specials such as Strawberry Rhubarb, Apple Crisp and Coconut Castaway.
In other words, Iowa could agree on Udderly Delicious—but choosing just one favorite treat may still be impossible.
